DK Extremus

The Outstanding Newcomer

DK Extremus is a very high yielding hybrid with high oil content

Breeder's View

"DK Extremus is a very high yielding hybrid with high oil content. It features Pod Shatter Resistance and good stem characteristics along with high levels of resistance to Stem Canker and Good Light Leaf Spot Resistance"

Key Traits

Double Phoma Resistance

Double Phoma Resistance
RLM7 supported by polygenic resistance for the most durable phoma/stem canker protection and greatest spraying economy and flexibility.

Pod Shatter Resistance

Pod Shatter Resistance
Pioneering genetic resistance to pod shattering for the least seed shedding up to and at harvest and the greatest flexibility in harvest timing.

Vigorous Establishment

Vigorous Establishment
Robust initial root and shoot growth for the most reliable and even establishment.

Early spring regrowth

Early Spring Regrowth
The earliest start to regrowth after winter for the greatest tolerance of damage from flea beetle larvae and other spring challenges.

Rapid Autumn Development
Faster-than-average development for the most rapid growth away from flea beetle and other autumn challenges.

Early Maturity
Earlier-than-average ripening for the most timely harvesting and least stressful harvest workload management.

High Oil
Higher-than-average oil content to maximise gross output for added market returns.

Product Characteristics

Management Guidance

  • Seed rate should target an even plat stand of 25-30 plants/m²in spring.
  • The rapid autumn growth habit means a PGR may be appropriate in early/mid October on crops early sown or on fertile sites to reduce the risk of over development pre winter.
  • Light Leaf Spot should be monitored and treated as required.
