A common arable weed throughout the UK particularly on light chalky soils.

1. Cotyledons broader than long.

2. Annual or biennial. Leaves divided into 5-9 segments each of which has three lobes with soft fine hairs. Plants overwinter as rosette.

3. Small pinkish flowers with deep notches.
