Support education and training

We will ensure that the future of British and Irish farming is at the heart of everything we do, by:

Supporting the education and training of farmers, future farmers and the wider farming industry.

Sharing what farming is about and the challenges it faces in helping the world with longer term challenges is vital. We give our support to a number of events and organisations.

In partnership with the educational charity Farming And Countryside Education (FACE), which last year helped over a million youngsters experience life on a farm, the Bayer/FACE Awards recognise the great work that many UK farmers are doing to bring children closer to farming through school visits.

Our Bayer Youth Ag Summit aims to get young farmers around the world engaged in finding sustainable agricultural solutions to a growing global need for safe, nutritious food. Bayer set up this initiative, recognising that, by 2050, there will be more than nine billion people in the world that need feeding with less farmland and fewer resources. Both events in 2013 and 2015 were attended by three young UK farmers, and we aim to provide similar opportunities for the 2017 event.

These are just some of the ways we ensure that the future of British and Irish farming is at the heart of everything we do.
