New technology to track disease progression

In 2014 and 2015 we installed time-lapse cameras at two of our trials sites. The cameras took pictures every twenty minutes from March to August. They have provided a fascinating insight into how Septoria spreads up a plant through the season and how fungicides prevent infection of new foliage. We also worked in partnership with ADAS to further analyse the pictures. ADAS were able to quantify the green leaf area from the pictures to accurately track the disease progression.
