Bayer/FACE Awards - Future of Farming
Whirlow Hall Farm located between the Peak district and Sheffield, South Yorkshire has won in the Access category for the prestigious Bayer/FACE Awards, which celebrate the very best in food and farming education.
John Gray collected the award at a lunch in London’s Banking Hall in front of over a hundred guests from the world of agriculture and education. Head Judge, Janet Hickinbottom, National Education Officer at Farming and Countryside Education (FACE) the charity helping to organise the awards said, “The competition this year was extremely fierce but the judges were really impressed with how John and his team have been working with children with special educational needs and disabilities on the farm, and we were delighted to present Whirlow Hall Farm with the Access Award.”
This award is presented for a farm demonstrating outstanding achievements in encouraging access for pupils with special needs, disaffected students or disadvantaged young people.
