Bayer-LEAF Education Awards

Welcome to the official page for the Bayer-LEAF Education Awards!

The Bayer-LEAF Education Awards celebrate the very best of agricultural education initiatives on-farm, in the classroom, or online. Together, Bayer and LEAF Education want to help inspire and mobilise champions of food and farming education, so that future generations grow up knowing more about farming and what it delivers as well as helping nurture a lifelong interest in the natural world and an awareness of their role in protecting it.

If you would like to become an Award-winning initiative recognised for going the extra mile to share your passion about food and farming, or know someone who deserves that recognition, then you can either apply directly by clicking here, or nominate someone by clicking here. All forms should then be sent to by the 26th April 2019.

Innovative Learning Award

The Innovative Learning Award recognises a farm demonstrating innovative work with schools encouraging an understanding of and interest in current farming practices. Whether that’s utilising technology, thinking creatively about showing modern, sustainable farming or raising awareness of on-farm innovation.  We are looking for an outstanding farm education initiative that really showcases modern sustainable farming.

Primary School Partnership

If you know a farm that has built and continues to build a successful relationship with primary schools (5-11 year olds) and makes a valuable and sustained contribution to school life, both on and away from the farm, then consider nominating them! We are looking for creative partnerships that are making real and lasting differences to young children’s understanding of farming and where their food comes from.

Secondary School Partnership

The Secondary School Partnership Award shines a spotlight on a farm that has gone out of its way to build a successful relationship with one or more secondary schools (11-18 years old).   We are looking for a farm that is working with young people in new and imaginative ways to engage them with farming and helping to ignite their interest in the natural world.  We’ll be looking for projects that are making a valuable and sustained contribution to school life on and away from the farm.

About LEAF Education

LEAF Education builds on the work of FACE (Farming and Countryside Education) following its merger with LEAF in July 2017. It works to inspire future generations about farming, food and the countryside. It manages a number of industry and educational initiatives, including Access to Farms, CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme), Countryside Classroom, Facetime a Farmer, Chef on the Farm and LEAF Open Farm School Days.

LEAF Education provides teachers with curriculum focused training, tools and resources to help them deliver high-quality learning experiences about farming. It also helps farmers navigate the world of education and supports them in delivering inspiring and engaging on-farm and in-classroom activities.
