Premier OSR establishment scheme extended to four leading DEKALB varieties
Bayer’s market-leading Dekalb Establishment Scheme has been extended to include the only UK-Recommended Clearfield variety alongside top-performing mainstream hybrids for 2021.
Following the same format that proved so popular last season, growers of DK Exstar, DK Excited, DK Extremus and DK Imprint CL will be able to claim £100/bag back through their seed supplier for blocks of 6ha or more that fail to establish.
“This extends to every 1.5 million seed bag covering the affected area (calculated at a drilling rate of 0.5 million seeds/ha),” points out Bayer campaign manager, Lizzie Carr- Archer. “It applies to all crops sown before September 20. And it involves the least possible administration and hassle.
“Unlike more restrictive schemes too, we are again centring ours on some of the strongest varieties in our portfolio – triple 8 breakthrough, DK Exstar; TuYV-resistant all-rounder, DK Excited; and highest merit RL Candidate, DK Extremus (all three of which are well-suited to early drilling); plus the step-up in Clearfield performance and reliability that is DK Imprint CL.
“All four varieties carry our vigorous establishment and rapid autumn development traits growers really value in helping crops grow away from early challenges. On top of this, our Establishment Scheme offers additional risk-sharing assurance should flea beetle or other pressures prove too intense even for them.”
To take advantage of the scheme, all growers need to do is purchase their seed through one of DEKALB’s many participating distributors, plant it before September 20 and register at www.cropscience.bayer.co.uk/dkestablishment by September 30. Distributor-validated claims for crops failing to establish by the end of October will then automatically be credited with £100/bag.
“We believe the best establishment assurance in the business from our combination of leading genetics and financial risk-sharing will do much to support the growing confidence evident in OSR for the coming season,” Ms Carr-Archer stresses.
