It’s a win all-round with our Ascra quiz
Back in April we launched our all-rounder quiz and competition along with a podcast to bring some much-needed cheer to the season and brighten spirits.
Back in April we launched our all-rounder quiz and competition along with a podcast to bring some much-needed cheer to the season and brighten spirits.
We wanted to find out which member of a cricket team your approach to disease control matches up to and give away hospitality tickets to see some cricket in action. Due to Covid-19 this has been postponed but we are looking forward to the cricket season starting again soon.
The results are now in. And the winners are… James Willox (@jameswillox3), Dan Kiddy (@dan_kiddy1), James Pocklington (@jamespocklingt), Ben Abell (@agronomist_ben) as well as other winners Ed and Toby. Congratulations to you all and thank you for taking part in our Ascra all-rounder quiz.
These lucky six will receive a one-day international hospitality ticket to watch England play cricket (once the cricket season restarts).
As an all-rounder, Ascra is the star of the team and our quiz results also reveal that 89% of you are also stars of your own team. Our quiz looked at finding out if your disease control strategy is to be a do-it-all attacking all-rounder, a risk-adverse opening batsman or a quick decision-making fast bowler. Just like Ascra the majority of you are all-rounders in your own fields.
Our results show the majority of you are happy to take a calculated risk when it comes to disease control, where the season allows it and adapt the plan you have created as the season progresses, alongside researching as many trial sources as possible before stepping up to the crease.
We really enjoyed the responses from you all, one of our favourite responses comes from farmer and cricketer, Jim Mawle, who sent in this incredible response to us about his experience with Ascra…
‘Getting my disease control off the mark, and on the front foot in 2020 is hugely important. Taking a no-nonsense approach and declaring war on disease, I can take no chances or run the risk of a slip in yield.
Ascra is my product of choice, hitting Septoria for six. The combination of two SDHI’s and a single Triazole provides outstanding protection, keeping leaves green and driving yields.
Growing Wheat in the county of Devon is always a challenge with an average rainfall of 56 inches (1400 mm) and some years 65 + inches (1625 mm) not out of the question, good Septoria Tritici control is vital to avoid a serious knock on yield and quality.
That’s why for the last four years Ascra has been my first line of defence and at the heart of my disease control programme, helping to push yield and deliver good economic figures and return on investment.
Ascra’s flexible dose rate and unique leaf shield technology is invaluable if your timing is slightly out and if you find yourself on the back foot.
If rain delays, super-fast, drying allows you to grab every chance if you find a gap in the weather.
So, make the call, draw on Ascra to strike foliar disease where it hurts, drive yields and deliver outstanding results. Don’t be caught off guard, ramp up your game and put it to the test.
Have 100 % confidence in Ascra’s ability. It’s a great all-rounder making for a great winning partnership! Howzat!’
If you haven’t done so already, you can still take part and find out which cricketing discipline your disease control matches up to here.
