Why are hoverflies so important for our food system?

As part of our ongoing curiosity in to how to best manage farmland in a way that works with the environment, we invited our good friend Geoff Vowles to visit one of our research farms to survey hoverflies.

Geoff is a retired pathologist, amateur naturalist and talented photographer. Head of Communications and Government Affairs Dr Julian Little worked with Geoff to produce a Hoverfly Guide, sharing the outcome of his visit to our research farm and also some helpful advice on encouraging hoverflies on your farm to get the most out of a sustainable agricultural system.

Click here to download the PDF guide, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram as we share some key facts on hoverflies and why they are so important for our food system!
