Importance
Late spring-germinator associated with spring sown crops particularly sugar beet and potatoes.
1. Cotyledons are oblong, 10-12 mm and usually red-splotched underneath.
2. Bluish-green alternating long-stalked leaves with pointed end, the underside is often reddish.
3. Stem can grow up to 1 m in height.
4. Dense green clustered prickly inflorescence.
