Early RL trials confirm Clearfield candidate promise
New generation Clearfield variety, DK Imprint CL is confirming its promise as a candidate by standing out for its agronomic package as well as performance in Recommended List trials.
Provisional results from the initial four sites to be reported show it noticeably exceeding the gross output of half the 31 currently Recommended varieties at 103% of the 4.63 t/ha control mean. In its first head-to-head comparisons too, its output is almost 10% and 20% respectively ahead of the two Clearfield hybrids on the 2020/21 RL.
Maturing earlier than its rivals, DK Imprint CL’s RL trial ratings also show it to be markedly more resistant to leaf spot and phoma stem canker and more winter hardy than either, while scoring higher for early vigour, emergence and establishment.
Although not yet assessed in RL trials, the new variety’s proven Dekalb pod shatter resistance gives it a further clear agronomic and performance advantage.
