The year started with the customary Oxford Farming Conference. Like many I wasn’t able to attend but read with interest about a talk given by Mark Lynas. As you may know, Mark was involved with the trashing of GM trials in the 1990s.
While he remains an environmental campaigner and author, he is now a staunch advocate of GM technology and sees it as an essential tool if we are to feed an ever growing global population. Without GM technology, Mark reckons that “Europe is on the verge of becoming a food museum.”
Have a look at the video of his talk and let us know what you think.
