DK Platinium

The Clubroot Resistance Choice

DK Platinium is the first Dekalb variety in the UK featuring resistance to Clubroot*

Breeder's View

"DK Platinium is a restored hybrid and the first variety in the DEKALB stable to demonstrate Clubroot resistance. It has shown high yields with high oil content in independent trials in the UK. This variety also features pod shatter resistance and good resistance to phoma and light leaf spot."

Key Traits

Pod Shatter Resistance

Pod Shatter Resistance
Pioneering genetic resistance to pod shattering for the least seed shedding up to and at harvest and the greatest flexibility in harvest timing.

Vigorous Establishment

Vigorous Establishment
Robust initial root and shoot growth for the most reliable and even establishment.

Rapid Autumn Development
Faster-than-average development for the most rapid growth away from flea beetles and other autumn challenges.

Clubroot Resistance
Resistance to common races of this devastating pathogen for increased security where clubroot is a particular threat.

High Oil
Higher-than-average oil content to maximise gross output for added market returns.

Management Guidance

  • Seed rate should target an even plant stand of 25-30 plants/m2 in spring.
  • Light Leaf Spot and Phoma should be monitored and treated as required.
  • Ensure the Green Area Index is accurately determined at the start of spring growth to guide appropriate nitrogen rates for optimal canopy size. Lodging risk with DK PLATINIUM is moderate.
