Importance
Common everywhere especially in cereal and oilseed rape crops.
1. Cotyledons are small, narrow, entire and light green in colour.
2. Later leaves are lance-shaped, deeply divided into lobes and hairy. First true leaves and often mitten-shaped.
3. An upright annual with bristly stems and large scarlet flowers with black centres.
