Scentless mayweed

Matricaria perforata

Importance

Widespread, scentless mayweed especially.

1. Cotyledons are very small, oval and stalkless. The first true leaves are very narrow and generally have several lobes, difficult to differentiate mayweed species in this seedling stage.

2. Later leaves are very finely divided.

3. Upright bushy annuals with daisy-like flowers. Scentless mayweed has narrower leaves and larger flowers than the stinking variety. Stinking mayweed (anthemis cotula) leaves have an unpleasant smell when rubbed.
